Attributing Communication methods to Communications allows users to identify the type of correspondence made or that needs to take place with contacts (In example: Call, Email, Meeting, etc..)
A set of default Communication methods are available to choose from to the right of the Title bar in the Add Communication window.
Custom Communication methods allow users to customise their Communication type drop-down and add custom Communication methods.
Adding custom Communication methods
Add custom Communication methodss via the Control panel settings. Navigate to the Control Panel > click Communication Settings > click the 'Types' tab next to the Custom Filed tab.
The default Communication methods are system fields and cannot be renamed or edited. These fields are Telephone, Email, Meeting, Notes, Fax, Written and Other.
Custom Communication methods
Click the Add button available on the top right of the page to start adding custom Communication methods.
Name the custom Communication method (Ex - Skype, WhatsApp number, Tweet etc...).
Select and attribute an icon from the Icon drop-down to define the custom Communication method.
Hit Save to add the custom Communication method.
The custom Communication methods will now appear in the Add Communication window's type drop-down.
Filtering Communications by method
Users can narrow down a list of Communications by filtering Communications by their method.
Go to the Communications list page by clicking Communications in the header bar and select Communications.
Click on the 'More' drop down and select Type.
Both default & custom Communication method will display in a selection window to select. Click on 'Update' to apply the selections and filter the list.
