Opportunities can be recorded via the Add options which displays:
- in the Opportunities list view page
- in the main header bar
- within a module's profile page
After selecting Add, an Add Opportunity window will populate.
The only required fields are Contact and Name. Once a contact is selected to add the Opportunity against, the Name field will automatically populate with the value 'Opportunity for [contact name]'. The Name field can be re-named if required but it does require a value.
The remaining fields within this window further define the Opportunity from a sales perspective. These fields are not mandatory and can be completed at the time of creating the new Opportunity or after saving.
Unless a different currency type is selected for the Opportunity from the Currency drop-down, by default, the Opportunity currency will be the base currency. The Opportunity currency can be changed after creating the new Opportunity.
Any custom fields associated with Opportunities can be filled out while creating the Opportunity by clicking on the tabs at the top of the window. These tabs represent the custom categories created within the control panel. See Creating Opportunity categories and custom fields for more information.
A contact lookup field is available at the bottom of the Add Opportunity window to connect a contact and define the relevant relationship.
After populating the necessary information, the user is directed to a profile page for the newly created Opportunity.
