Once the DEAR Systems/Salpo CRM integration is set up, the next step is to sync any contacts between the two systems. At this time, contacts only sync from Salpo into DEAR, not vice versa.
Compared to Salpo CRM the contact hierarchical structure in DEAR Systems is slightly different. DEAR Systems allow you to save contacts under the categories of Customers and Suppliers, whereas Salpo CRM allows saving contacts under the categories of Individuals and Organisations.
By default, contacts synced from Salpo CRM will be recorded as Customer type contacts in DEAR Systems.
Usually, a Customer type contact in DEAR Systems is an Organisation which contains multiple addresses and contacts recorded under one Customer type contact.
Mapping mandatory contact fields in DEAR Systems
DEAR Systems requires all mandatory fields to be filled at the time of creating a Customer type contact.
The mandatory fields will always be equal to the information selected in Salpo CRM integration step 02 window
To sync an Individual contact from Salpo CRM:
Go to the contact profile page, click on button on top right of the page and select Sync with DEAR Systems.
Click on the confirmation banner to sync the contact.
Initial Individual contact synchronisation will create a Customer type contact in DEAR Systems contact list. To update DEAR Systems with any amendments made to an Individual contact in Salpo CRM, re-sync contact.
Syncing contacts in bulk:
Go to the contact list view page by accessing the Contacts tab in the top menu bar.
Apply a filter (or group of filters) to created a more defined list of contacts that captures all of the appropriate contacts which should sync into DEAR.
Click the Actions drop-down and select Sync with DEAR systems, to bulk sync contacts into DEAR Systems.
By default, only Organisational contacts sync with DEAR Systems and save as Customer type contacts when selected to .
However, Individual contacts can be included when syncing into DEAR by checking the Include Individuals
To view synced contacts click on Sale in the DEAR Systems header menu bar and select View All under Customers.
A Customer type contact in DEAR Systems contains multiple address types. Whereas in Salpo CRM, a contact contains a single address.
When a contact from Salpo CRM is synced with DEAR Systems, by default the primary address of the contact auto maps against the Business, Shipping & the Billing addresses fields in DEAR Systems.
Changes made to the addresses or to the names of contacts in DEAR Systems will not update the details contained in Salpo CRM.
