Setting up Zapier with Salpo is quick and easy.
Sign up to Zapier
Before setting up new Zaps, a Zapier account is required. Zapier has a free plan which is especially useful when testing and seeing if work for the business.
A new Zapier account can be created by following the instructions at https://zapier.com/.
Generating an API Token
To set up Salpo as a Trigger or Action, Zapier requires an API Key. Any app using an API Key lets Salpo know that Zapier has permission to read data or create something new in Salpo.
Each User can generate an API Token, however it's recommended the key is created against an administrator or a User which is unlikely to be deactivated. If an API Token is generated against a User who is later deactivated, the Zapier integration will stop working.
An API Token can be generated by:
Click on the Username, in the top right part of Salpo, and select 'API Tokens'
Note. The User whose account will have the API Token generated against needs to be logged in to generate it. Administrators cannot generate API Tokens for other Users.
On the API Token page, select the Add Token button, top right of the page.
Inside the Add API Token popup, give the new token a name. This is just for reference.
Copy the API Token code (in red) and keep it safe (it will not be available once the pop up is closed)
Close the Add API Token popup
When setting up Salpo as a Trigger or Action, Zapier will ask for the API Token as well as the Username (the one the Token was generated against) and the name of the Salpo account (the URL of the system).
Note. Any reference to the API Token should be deleted once a Salpo account has been setup in Zapier
A new API Token can be created against the Salpo User at any time, if for example, a new API Token is required in Zapier or for security purposes, the current API Token needs to be replaced (in this case, we recommend deleting the previous API Token in Salpo after a new one has been generated and replaced in Zapier).
