Adding Products to Opportunities provides a better and more optimised view of Opportunities. Users can see which Products are directly related to that Opportunity, providing a more precise monetary value to an Opportunity. This assists sales teams to prioritise open Opportunities. Users also have the ability to identify won/lost ratios associated with specific Products.
Note: Products must be activated within the Control Panel.
Products can only be added to existing Opportunities. Start by reviewing how to create an Opportunity against a Contact in Salpo. Once the Opportunity is created, Products can be connected, removed and amended to reflect the requirements for that specific sale.
Click on the green Add dropdown on the Opportunity profile page > an Add Product window will appear and the User will be navigated to the Products tab within the Opportunity > click on the dropdown next to the Select Products From option to define which Product catalogue the Product can be found, when using the aBILLity integration, aBILLity should always be selected > then use the Product Picker field, Product Name, by typing out the Product name to select it from the dropdown list > any associated Product details will pull over from aBILLity at this time and automatically populate > fill out any remaining data fields that need to be completed at this time (these can be amended later) > click Save to finish adding the Product to the Opportunity.
Note: only Products/Service Charges that already exist in aBILLity will sync from the Salpo Order into aBILLity. If a Product has been created within Salpo, and is only available within the Salpo Product catalogue, it will not appear on the aBILLity sync form.
Amending data fields against aBILLity Products added to an Opportunity
From the Products tab, change the Product Connection from Standard to aBILLity Products > click on the pencil icon to the right of the Product line. Once selected, any of the standard and custom fields stored within the aBILLity Product custom Connection will be available to edit. Editing these details is helpful when moving the Product through the provisioning process of the order so data is added and updated as it is received.
Deleting aBILLity Products added to an Opportunity
If the customer is no longer considering a Product and the User needs to remove it from the Opportunity, use the trash can icon to the right of the Product line to remove it and the stored custom data from the Opportunity. This add/remove process can be helpful when creating and updating quotes for customers.
